Mr. Charles Olupot is an Information and Technology professional with wealth of practical Experience in Management and Administration of ICTs particularly in University Settings. He has a dream to be one of the leading IT professionals in Uganda.
He is the first born to Mr. Okello James of Okalis Village, Asuret subcounty, Soroty county in soroti District and Mrs. Christine Akol Okello of tididiek Village, Ngora subcounty, Kumi district. He is the first born of the five children.
Mr. Charles Olupot is currently heading the management Information Systems in Makerere University Business School and is involved in several ICT related projects both in the private and public setting.
Charles started his academic journey from Obule Primary School in Soroti for primary One to Primary two, He then moved to Aghakan Primary School in Mbale for Primary three before moving to Wandegeya Primary School for Primary four to Primary Seven. After leaving primary seven he went to Kitante Hill School in 1991for Senior One and completed his Ordinary Level in 1995. After completing his O' level Education he went to Caltec Academy, Makerere for the first time of Senior five before moving to Teso College Aloet where he completed and obtained a Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education in 1998.
in 199, Mr. olupot went to Makerere University Business School and was part of a pioneer group to the then newly introduced Diploma in Financial Services and Business Computing (DFB). He was also among the second lot of students to study at the then new campus located at Nakawa. After completing his diploma in 2000, he went and briefly worked with SAMEG Chemical Products, a Manufacturing Small and Medium Enterprise located at Namuwongo. He was working as Admistrator/Accounts Assistant. His work at SAMEG was short lived as he was recalled to work with the Makerere University Business School. His invitation to work at MUBS was based on his good academic performance while a student. He was also awarded a Scholarship to study Certified Public Accountants of Uganda a course he did up to 2002 when he put a hold on the course and commenced studies on Bachelors of Business Computing of Makerere University which he completed in 2005. He enrolled for a masters of Information Systems, Information Management Option in 2008. He has completed class work and is currently carrying out his research.
